Welcome to the website of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. You may find information about the artistic and didactic activity of the school as well as details concerning the enrolment process.
Founded in 1929, the Academy is the oldest state higher education institution located in Upper Silesia, Poland. It offers artistic studies in the field of music and holds a variety of artistic events such as concerts, masterclasses, workshops, competitions and conferences.
The Academy’s campus is famous for its concert hall, built in 2007 and the spatious patio that fuses an old, neo-Gothic redbrick buildings to modern architecture, located at Zacisze 3, Katowice. A virtual tour is available here.
Classes are also given in the Instrumental and Vocal Faculties’ building (Szafranka 5, Katowice), and at the Jazz and Popular Music Faculty (Krasińskiego 27, Katowice).
